The Short-Fit RambleSwing is designed for vehicles such as the 5th-6th gen 4Runners, 4th gen Tacomas, and most Subarus and Hondas, which have a significantly shorter hitch. This option is tailored specifically to those vehicle types.
The RambleSwing is limited to a maximum of 100lbs of bikes on a vertical rack. And the RambleSwing Pro can hold up to 150 lbs of bikes. The higher leverage point on a vertical rack reduces the weight limit as compared to its overall rating of 300 lbs on RambleSwing and 350 lbs on RambleSwing Pro.

If you're the type to run your gear hard and err on the side of negligence, we offer a re-coat service. To have your product re-coated, pay for return shipping both ways and we'll disassemble and re-coat it for you for less than most any powder coat facility would charge, and re-sticker and reassemble with fresh wear items like our rubber bumper, glide washers, etc. before sending it back to you. Email us to get an exact quote: [email protected]
When it comes to coating, we do everything we can to provide the best possible defense against the elements. This includes a chemical wash, bead blast, zinc prime, and powder coat on most of our products. With that said, we cannot warranty powder coat due to the extreme nature of some climates and the variables that exist in determining the exact lifespan of coating.
Keeping your gear clean is one of the best ways to ensure the longevity of coating. When scratches from use develop, use touch up paint. For most of our products, SEM Trim Black 39143 is a good match.
Exception: powder coat damaged during shipping. If you just received your product and noticed damaged coating due to shipping, please email photos of the damage along with your name and order # to [email protected] and we'll take care of you.

We offer locking hitch pins for UltraSwing and RambleSwing along with lever locks for the RambleRack. See all lock options here.
In general, UltraSwings and RambleSwings are NOT compatible with high-clearance aftermarket bumpers with an integrated hitch. Email [email protected] a photo of your rig's bumper to confirm.

UltraSwing Info
The Mega-Fit is ideal for full size trucks. It allows you to drop your tailgate with the UltraSwing open to 90 degrees. The Multi-Fit will also work, but is 4" narrower and 3" shorter. If you are running 35" or larger tires we highly recommend the Mega-Fit instead of the Multi-Fit.
65 lbs (with wheel plate)
Weight is the enemy of performance. Whether it’s for maintaining the performance of your suspension, or not wanting to need to change your factory suspension, the UltraSwing is up to several hundred pounds lighter than a replacement bumper.
If you engage in a range of activities, for example, cycling, camping, and off-roading, and you also want to maintain regular usage of your 4Runner around town, the UltraSwing is a better option than a replacement bumper with a swing out. A replacement bumper is a commitment. Even if your bumper choice does not include cutting the bedsides or factory bumper, that’s not something you are very likely to revert back to stock down the road.
If weight and versatility resonate more with you, UltraSwing is a better candidate for suiting your needs.

Always attach safety chains between your vehicle and your trailer and cross them under the tongue of the trailer so that the tongue will be less likely to drop if the trailer should separate from the hitch. Leave enough slack in the chains so you can corner without the chains impeding the movement of the trailer. Do not allow safety chains to drag on the ground.

The UltraSwing is tow rated to 10,000 lbs (1,000 lb tongue) and is also safe to be used as a recovery point. Learn more about how the UltraSwing affects your tow capacity here.
The UltraSwing uses an angled tire design because it centers the load of the tire over the UltraSwing resulting in increased performance of the UltraSwing in off-road or bumpy highway situations.
The Mega-Fit was designed specifically to meet the fitment demands of large vans like Sprinter, Transit, and Promaster.

The UltraSwing has been tested in a tow rating facility at over 20,000 lbs pull force and 10,000 lbs downward force. Does that mean you should go hook a space shuttle up to the UltraSwing on your Subaru and drive up the Grapevine? NO! You should not! Click here to learn about safe towing.
There is a slight decrease in departure angle compared to just a standard hitch receiver. When hitting an obstacle straight on the UltraSwing is 4” further out to. Approaching an obstacle from an angle, the UltraSwing is higher than the bumper on many vehicle applications.
Yes, but you'll need to use the Rotopax Universal Mounting Plate, and drill holes to match our UltraSwing Rotopax Mount Bracket to mount two 2-Gallon Rotopax. To mount a single Rotopax just use our UltraSwing Rotopax Mount.
All versions of UltraSwing include a plug-n-play stainless steel license relocation plate and light kit.
There are several existing options available for backup camera relocation. Here's a link to our offerings. Call or email us to help you decide what option makes sense for you.
Yes. Although we have options for relocating the backup camera on many vehicles, we don't have relocation options available for parking sensors. In most cases we recommend disabling them.
First off, mounting anything to your vehicle's hitch, whether it's an 8" hitch extension or an UltraSwing, you should reduce your vehicles maximum tow capacity by 50%. Why? Because compounding leverage.
Since using an adapter (or a hitch extender) lowers the maximum capacity of your trailer hitch, you need to be aware of the new maximum trailer weight and tongue weight your trailer hitch can safely tow. Use the following information to calculate your new towing capacity when using an UltraSwing as well as any additional extensions or adapters needed.
Your new maximum gross trailer weight (GTW) is the LOWEST of the following:
- 50% of the Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) rating of the trailer hitch (if the trailer hitch GTW rating is 3000 lbs, this number would be 1500 - half of 3000 lbs.).
- The vehicle's towing capacity as stated in the vehicles owner's manual (let's use 2000 lbs as an example here).
- the UltraSwings's maximum trailer weight rating (10,000 lbs)
So in the above example, the LOWEST weight is 1500 lbs, so do NOT attempt to tow anything weighing over 1500 lbs.
Your new maximum tongue weight (TW) is the LOWEST of the following:
- 50% of the tongue weight (TW) rating of the trailer hitch (if the trailer hitch TW rating is 400 lbs, this number would be 200 - half of 400 lbs).
- the UltraSwing's maximum tongue weight rating (1,000 lbs)
So in the above example, the LOWEST tongue weight is 200 lbs, so do NOT attempt to tow any trailer that puts MORE THAN 200 lbs of weight on the tongue.
In this combination of tow vehicle, trailer hitch, and hitch adapter you can tow any trailer that weighs 1500 lbs or less AND places 200 lbs or less weight on the tongue. Anything heavier than that would be unsafe with this combination of vehicle, trailer hitch, and adapter.
If you are running a spare tire, yes, you will most likely need a hitch extension.
We highly recommend the adjustable anti-wobble hitch extension we designed called the WobNot.
The exceptions are typically Sprinter or Transit vans running 31" tires using a Mega-Fit, these sometimes do not require an extension.
RambleSwing Info
RambleRack Info
The RambleRack can easily take two 100+ lb bikes, it's in combination with the UltraSwing extending everything out further that's the limiting factor.
You're fine to carry two 60 lb E-bikes, but understand there will be a fair amount of whip from the UltraSwing extending everything further away from your vehicle. If you have the ability to remove your batteries, especially on longer trips or off-road that will help everything perform better.
